Only wheels I have seen in 18's that look good are the LM's since they have smaller faces.
Other than that 17's all the way. And what someone else said 17x8 and 17x9

18s are nice bit tires cost more and they weigh more. ASM's time attack car switched from 17s to 18s, something about less static camber neededand something else. It was mentioned in the ASM thread.

I won't say 18's are "better" for the the track, but it really depends on your setup. If you have a suspension that is setup to maximize Race tires or slicks then 18's are better because you can get better tire selections.

For a street S2000, 17's are fine. And 18" is not "too big," they look fine on the vehicle, and some can weigh less than the OEM 17's.

Because technical regulations limit the size of the hubs to keep the size of the brake discs down
