Default 17x8.5 +38, 17x10 +35

Looking into trading another member my Meisters for a set of VSXX with the specs of 17x8.5 +38 front and 17x10 +35 rear.

My rears are rolled, and my fronts are untouched. Car is pretty damn low as it is. -2 camber front, -3 camber rear.

I would like to run a tire with a decent amount of meat on it, and as little stretch as possible...

Does anyone have pictures of this fitment on an S?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Your going to have issues running anything other then a 235 in back and a 215 up front as your car sits right now. So where do you want to compromise? Less tire? Or pulling front and rear fenders with the addition of -.5 more camber front and rear to run a 235 front 255 rear?

Those are your two options with your situation with these size wheels and offset.

I wouldn't mind raising the car up a little bit in order to fit some more meat. I can also roll the fronts that wouldnt be a problem. That amount of camber worries me though. I might just pass up the wheels and keep my Meisters.

Yeah, they are getting into the hella flush arena. When you have to start making compromises such as more then -3 camber and pulled/flared fenders to run near stock tire sizes, you have to ask yourself what is it your going after. Raising your car will make the wheels protrude even more, looking like a swamp buggy. Problem is when you raise the car, you run out of negative camber adjustment, you would need to get front and rear camber kits. You have to be lowered sub 2.5" to get any more then -3 camber with oem.

Oh junky have you forgotten this is what I run?

Click on my build thread in my sig and look at some of the later pictures. I did spend several hours with a fender roller and one of the wheels trying to flair my rears as much as I could. I currently run 2 degrees camber in the front and 3 in the rear. The tire rubs a little bit on the right rear but I think its just on the bumper that I need to trim a little more.

My exact specs are
17x9 +43 245/40/17 -2 camber front
17x10 +35 255/40/17 -3 camber rear.

Good luck its not an easy thing to fit at all and had I not spent that time with the fender roller and working on it it wouldn't have fit at all and even then this is an incredibly aggressive set up by any standards. Good luck.

No not at all

What did I miss in my Analysis? Did I make it sound more aggressive then it is?

He wont have the same luck fitting a 245 up front since he has the same outer clearance as you but a narrower rim, that’s going to make for more outer and inner rubbing, which means pulling the fender more then you if there is any room left. As is, he has stock untouched front fenders. As for the back, I thought you were running -3.5 camber?

So I still stand by what I said, if he were to do nothing with his car then how it sits now. 215/235 is what’s going to clear without rubbing. If he wants to pull and manipulate his front and rear fenders a bunch, then 235/255. But I think he is going to need to run more camber up front at least -2.5 for those 235. Im on the fence right now at -2.5 8.5 +40, with whether to go with a 235 or 245. I'm going to have to pull my front fenders more to get a 245 on there with the 8.5" wheel and may likley have to add more spring pre load to keep the front suspension from compressing as far. If I widened the inside of the wheel making it a 9.5" I would have no problem running a 245, or a 255 for that matter, its all in the amount of tire stretch without inner clearance for up front. Basically would be making it a higher numerical offset at that point, which I may do like I did with the rear.

Hey manga, can you post some pics of your setup? I was going to run this setup for a little while and then get spacers and ASM flares for the rear, and ASM fenders Then re-barrel the fronts.
