Default 17x9 +63 Tires

Hello.
I am looking for tires to fit a 17x9 +63 rear wheel. 255 is common, how about 265? Is 275 a chance?

Also, what do people thing of the following:

Pirelli Pzero Nero.
Dunlop SP9000.
Toyo T1-R.

Thanks a lot!

Talk to RT in your area. He has some of the widest tires I've heard of on an street S2000.

I really don't see the need for anything wider than the 255/40R17 on the car but with the 63mm offset I think the 265/40R17 would fit. The disadvantage of either the 265/40R17 or 275/40R17 is they are also taller than stock.

If you are planning on running anything wider than a 255 on a +63 setup you will need to have rolled fenders, depending on the shape of the tire. And for all intensive purposes once you get over 255 you are probably adding more rotational mass from the weight and width than what you pick up by adding more meat on the ground. By the way what wheels did you end up getting. TEs?

I have 265's on my +67's. No problem. They are a bit taller than stock but i have gears and a yellow box to take care of that.

I too have gears and a yellow box, so hrm.. I wouldn't mind be a little higher. I want to drop the car a bit to reduce the fender gap, but I don't want to scrape. So many choices.
I ended up getting LE37t Gloss Black..
I think I will go with 255.
I got a sponsorship from Pirelli, and they have the 225/17 and 255/17 in the Pzero Nero Rosso. They have 225 in the "Direzionale" and 255 in the "Assimetrico" (which can mix tread patterns they say).. But only 225 in the Pzero Nero which I want. No rear adequate. Their rep said the Rosso is their best tire??? Hrmm...
Perhaps Pzero Nero front, Assimetrico rear. Sounds okay. 225 and 255...

I have 255/40 17 on 17x9 +62, also a little bit taller than stock. I would like to go to a 275, but it changes the gear ratio to much for me with not that much more stick for street use.

Wyatt,

If you use a tire width that is wider than 265......and you are lowered.....you will have issues with clearance. 275 is too wide for a 9" +63

The 255/40 is the best bet for the +63 offset you have listed. It will clear the fender well regardless of how much you are lowered and will not have any rubbing issues when you hit a bump / dip in the road.
