Hey Senor Tone,
I know a couple good sources for custom 18" wheels. If you're going 18", why not go all the way and get 18x9f and 18x10.5r? That way you can run 245/40fr and 285/30rr (common 18" tire sizes) without messing up gearing. It's the ultimate track setup for the S2000.

yes, thats where i'm going.....285/30 rears, but i thought i would be running 225/40 fronts. thats what i believe PMum had at WS, and current 911's use that(not that that is relavant, but i want to impress u with a tangential factoid in the hope it will inadvertantly lead to some sweet 'tang).

but at least being able to run 245 in fronts is more ideal. my goal would be 18's that do not exceed weight of USDM OEM wheels, thus the desire for a ultralightweight monoblock style wheels.

let me know the relevant whom, where's and how's about your custom wheel sources. muchos gracias y donde esta el bano, mas cervesas...ahora!!!!

yeah, my neighbor's gardner's been using a GT3 to mow the lawn,
but he still winds up all crossed up in outrageous yaw angles around the hairpin around the pool and coming out of chrysathymum trough #5. i still think its due to excessive cat piss mixed with dead potato bugs but he still insists on going with wider P triple zero tridirectioni garden weasel re-caps for the rears.

Okay BIG-tire-boys,
are you guys seriously running 245-F and 285-R on your cars? I would love to get track or street fatties on my car, but I can't see how they will fit? What wheel width and offset do you have? What brand?

i have not done it....yet. but i am doing the research and this is what i have found out;

they fit, including on extremely lowered vehicle if offset and camber is optimized. i am unsure if they may get occ. fender interference(rubbing), or none at all, but i have been led to believe the latter(no rub).

Kinesis has told me they would build 18 x 8 inch and 18 x 10 inch to run these sizes on S2000, but i am unsure of offset. i believe they understand the proper offset.

Bulletproof/HRE makes 18 x 9 and 18 x 10.5 in a offset designed for these tires.

Both these fitments are in the $850-1200 price range per wheel and are moderately heavy 3 piece design...probably 0-4 lbs more that USDM OEM wheel but i have no exact weights.

SSR SP1 professors have been discussed on board and are supposed to be available now or soon from Tire Rack and would be similar design. probably similar in weight 3 piece....hopefully cheaper price.

we need to commission Centerline for a production run of spec designed rotory forged rims for this application.....have u ever picked up those wheels....they are unfriginbelievably light...its eerie....

Rays should make CE28n in 18 for S2K too

sfphinkterMC- If you don't mind me asking, what kind of suspension are you running on your S? I think awhile ago i caught a thread that mentioned you have the N-0's, if you do could you send me a PM of your impressions of them so far. I have a set on the way to me from king motorsports along with a couple other mugen products. It's very difficult to contact other people in the USA to get impressions of these coilovers since they are very rare & also very expensive$$ that nobody wants them. Thanks
Matt

Wil, 225/40's and 285/30's w/ the correct offsets will work nice even when lowered (x8" & x10"). Based on my experience, I don't see how the 245/40's will fit especially since the 225/40's are already on the tall side (diameter) and have minimal clearance both inside and out.
You might have seen my set-up at T-Hill a couple months back (I pitted in front of you on day two) or maybe not since the right offsets make the wide tires inconspicuous. I was running Michelin Sport Cups in 225/40 & 285/30 lowered 1" in frt and 1.25" in rear w/ no rubbing.
