18s look perfectly fine on an S2000. I'm running BBS RG-R, 18x9.0 and 18x10.5 with 265/35 and 295/30 Pilot SCs. There's no way those will fit on your S2000, but they look damn good. Nice and chunky.

Granted, on stock ride height, an 18in rim will look a little goofy (like it's been lifted), but lowering springs are a cheap and effective fix to that.

Another option would be to buy some used wheels. Not sure if you are into that or not but being a college student myself and not being able to work full time, its a pretty good route to go. Just make sure you see some good quality pictures and make sure you are buying from a reputable person. Do some research on the person, see if they are legit.

I was just about in the same boat as you, I had about $1300 dollars to get some new wheels before I replaced my much needed tires so I decided I was going to buy some lower brand wheels. It just so happened that the day I went to order them, they were out of stock. I looked around a week or so and found some 18in SSR Competitions in good shape for $1600. They only needed new rear tires so I am at about $2000. They are good looking wheels, light weight, and have a good offset. I may have been able to find a better deal but I was WAY out of tread on my tires. Good Luck.

Also I have some pictures of the front stock wheel and the rear with the 18in SSR to give you and idea of the different sizes and how they look. Just let me know your e-mail and I will send you the pic, or if anyone wants to volunteer to post it up because im not very good at posting pictures yet. haha.

Oh and im at stock height!

i agree with used wheels. if you're only gonna keep them temporarily, just get something to hold u off. if u buy new cheap wheels, u just eat depreciation on wheels u dont want. buy USED cheap wheels, sell them when u get that uber job!

I would go for a used set of 17's off of an 04' or get the Shuk wheels from tirerack.com. They already have a gunmetal finish and fit real good on the S. If you buy 18's the tires for them are real expensive to be replaced. That is another factor for buying wheels.

The Shuk wheels are 1448 w/ tires mounted. You could probably drop the price another $100 dollars if you choose another tire. They also have some ASA wheels in silver for:

012345678 205/50WR17 Kumho Ecsta ASX Blackwall
for 2001 Honda S2000 In Stock $93.00 $186.00

012345678 225/45WR17 Kumho Ecsta ASX Blackwall
for 2001 Honda S2000 In Stock $90.00 $180.00

012345678 17x7 ASA AR1 Silver w/Machined Lip
for 2001 Honda S2000 In Stock $179.00 $358.00

012345678 17x8 ASA AR1 Silver w/Machined Lip
for 2001 Honda S2000 In Stock $189.00 $378.00

Total: $1,102.00 (before tax and shipping)

Hey Jeff, where are you seeing 1400 w/ tires or tirerack.com, because I could not find them. Are you looking at 17s or 18s? Thanks everybody for the help
