What are they ? Is it worth it ? Jim. i have looked at some of your wheels on Tirerack's web site, if you could add to this, i would like to have your thoughts.

18" wheels and tires are generally more expensive, and are heavier. 17" wheels and tires are lighter and much cheaper. therefore 17"s are the way to go for performance. 18"s are the way to go for better looks. That's why I have 17" RPF1's for summer/autocross and my old 18" wheels for winter/daily driving.

Advantages, can't think of any unless you need to go SUPER wide for big FI power, which will entail fender mods, custom sizing, etc.

Disadvantages: Generally more expensive, Usually significantly heavier, Tires much more expensive. Worse ride. More easily bent/damaged by potholes/curbs.

No, no, no, no, unless I'm racing you. Cost and weight as everyone says.

I've had a few sets of 18s and Im over it. Even though my 18 Volk Te37s are much lighter than an AP2 wheel, the AP2s feel much better. I guess its due to the rolling diameter, not the weight.

just my .02
