Default 205's All around

I Ordered rear snows from tire rack. No more blizzak LM's left in 225/50/16. So I ordered 205/55/16's. Should I have ordered 205/50/16?
Is it ok to run the same size all around? I figured when the fronts wear out I can just bring the rears to the front rims. Any thoughts?

The 205/50/16 would have made your rear-end sit a little lower almost by an inch, since the only difference between the 205/55 and 205/50 is the height of the sidewall, so 205/55 would be better of the two. I can't comment on the effects of not having a staggered setup, though. Hopefully someone else who knows more can comment.

I would run 225/50's all the way around. Measured rim width is 7.0" (on some that I saw anyway) Exactly halfway between the front and rears. Also keep the 112.5 stock sidewall height. This is what I am planning on running on my AP2 (with AP1 rims) for street use.

Thanks, just wondering if this could have any adverse affects on my Diff.

Why would keeping equal diameters all around have any effect on the diff?

As long as BOTH tires on the rear are the same size (diameter) you will not hurt your diff. That being said, I would try to maintain the stagger front/rear. I suspect that you'll notice more oversteer with the same size tires front/rear. If you have a section of road to do back to back testing on, I'd suggest adjusting tire pressures to try and regain your normal handling.

The autocross guys could probably give you some ideas on where to start out.. BTW, I'm running Hankook W300's on my car (Rochester, NY) and I've been happy w/these.

Thanks for that. I'll just be using them for a couple of months hopefully. I will be testing the handling when it's dry out. When there is snow and ice on the ground I'll be driving more sane. Thanks everyone
