Default 215's vs. 225's

hi,

i've been debating what tire size to go w/for my fronts. jim from tirerack has been very helpful, and has suggested the 215's. i'm getting RE-01R's. for the rears i know i'll be getting 255s.

can anyone w/these tires comment on the size combos? they'll be mounted on ce-28ns, standard 17x7.5 +50, 17x9 +63.

car is also lowered on espelirs.

i value jim's knowledge, just looking for some members experiences w/ 215s and or 225s, with 255 rears. rubbing will be a concern, since at this point i have no plans to roll the fenders.

thanks for any info

i have no experience but i BELIEVE with standard offsets you would not rub with 225 in the front.

would like to hear from experience from members as well seeing as i will be in the same boat in the future.

The 215 RE01R's are I believe 1.3 inches wider in tread width than the OEM RE050 if that is what you are comparing to.

yep, i believe you are correct; so even w/RE-01Rs in 215, i'll still have more contact patch and maintain almost stock stagger (since my rears will now be 255).

i guess what i'm wondering is who has 225's up front, is lowered, and running high offsets (+50), and aren't rubbing?

thanks for any info

I didn't drive much with them on the street, but I do not recall rubbing with the 225's. then again, my alignment doesn't switch between street/track.

I don't consider +50 high offsets either, considering stock is +55, right?

i have the same offset wheels as you lowered on h&r springs with 225 up front in an advan neova and it rubbed in hard cornering until my fenders were rolled.
