225/45/17 on AP2 Rear rim - pic request
Anyone have a picture of star spec (or any other) tire on a ap2v1 in a 225/45/17
I might be buying a set of 4xRears ap2v1 and want to run a staggered setup, just wondering if a 225/45/17 will look odd on a 17x8" rear rim I'm going to do either a 225/45/17 - 255/40/17 combo or considering a 235/45/17 - 265/40/17 combo |
The idea with non staggered is to increase the size of the front, not decrease the size of the rear, you would just hurt yourself I think

To the OP: Ap2V1 rears are 17x8.5 and a 225/45 will stretch the tire slightly and will work just fine. If you want stagger I would recommend the 225/255 over the 235/265 because the 255 will already be pinched a little on an 8.5" wheel. Also 235/45 and 265/40 are pretty tall tires and and will hurt your acceleration and your speedometer will be off. Also there are more options in tires with the 225/255 and they also happen to be cheaper because they are common sizes. |
225 is perfectly fine for an 8" wheel. Hell I have 225 on a 9" in the front until I go non staggered. Looks fine even on a 9" wheel.

...I've got a 215/45/17 Mounted on my Rear AP2V1's right now, if you'd like a picture of that as well. They're off the car right now.
OEM AP2 rears are 8.5 wide. |
Why not 235/40 front and 255/40 rear? It's what I run... The front sidewalls will be a tad shorter, but not by much. I'm running the 235/255 combo on 17x9 rims on all 4 corners.

It's not as popular as the 225/255, therefore territory i'm not sure I want to face, meaning I will need to buy more parts to make it work. Where your car is very well dialed in with lots of goodies so i'm sure it's does extremely well for you. |
