Thanks Afzan. there's a little more stretch then I would like, maybe a 235 would help in the looks department.

Hmmmm..

Snap a picture off and send it over!

I'm running on corded tires now so the car will need to stay put until I can get the new tires on and visit can-alignment. I'm going to visit the track before the end of the season.

oops, the 235/40 is on my 8" front .. I'll take a pic later today

Definately a thought but A) How much oversteer will I face, and can I dial it out based on compression in the trim i'm in (stock sway bars and mild alignment)

It's not as popular as the 225/255, therefore territory i'm not sure I want to face, meaning I will need to buy more parts to make it work. Where your car is very well dialed in with lots of goodies so i'm sure it's does extremely well for you.

A) Negligable. The car will be more neutral, no doubt. Cant really dial it out with damper changes. Dampers will affect balance during turn in, corner exit, transitions, etc. lt won't be of much help under steady state cornering. You can always swap in a mild aftermarket sway bar, but doubt you'll need it. Anyhow, you don't track much, so I wouldnt be to worried.

Yep, my car setup is all based around my 235/255 stager. I love it. It's a great compromise.

The 225 on the 8.5 didn't look too bad at all... I wouldn't even call that stretch. Tread width of star specs for instance, run very close to their designation. So a 225/45 (225mm = 8.9), may actually be 241 mm' which will actually look pretty square on the 8.5 rim. You're still in the recommended range of rim sizes according to Dunlop and most other ties.

Bottom line, the 225 will work.

sorry to hijack the thread, i'm also looking for the same tire size 225 and 255 BUT on a Stock suspension, on 17x7.5/8.5. I'm just wondering if the new tire sizes will rub anything?

do you have any pics? im on the boat for tires right now and want a staggered my setup.I have 17x9 front and back running 255s all around

Dom i know guys who ran 255 square on oem suspension and set record lap times, a 235/255 on your car would probably be ideal. Its the setup ill be going with next year on 9 inch wide wheels. If anything ill add a cr front or rear sway bar, whichever is needed. Just my thoughts :)

(This is all if i dont sell my s2k)

235/40 on a 8". Fits very similar to how a 255/40 fits on a 9"
