Just how bad will it be if I put 245/40/17 tires on the front 7 inch wheel for an AP2, I really can't stand the way the skinny 215's make the car look.

Want to run a square stance. Has anyone done this before? I don't really track my car just mostly casual highway driving, no harsh turns.

Inputs appreciated.

 

And I hate Honda for going 7 inch wheels in the front should have at least put 8 inch wheels for a damn sports car.

 

It won't be good. A 225 would be a better choice. If you want a square setup but 2 more rear wheels and run a 5mm spacer to clear the hub. Then you can run a 245 in the front.

 

Will the tire wear be bad or is it just the handling. How about high speed highway driving ?

 

245s are gonna look fuggly and stuffed onto the rim. Don't do it man. If you wanna run square find a set of rear ap2 wheels for sale and have them bored out to clear the front hub. Then run 245s or even 255s all the way around.

 

This. The rear wheels won't fit on front unless you get the center bore machined larger. Then you can run square setup. Putting 245 on stock front wheels are gonna be pinched beyond reason. You can get away with 225 on stock front, but even that is not ideal. Anything larger is too much and will be pinched.

Be aware that wider front tires will negatively affect steering feel on turn in. Also square setup will be more oversteer biased than the staggered setup you have now.

A lot of people here might suggest you bought the wrong car. You admittedly don't utilize its handling capabilities, and are more concerned about appearance of performance than actual performance. But its your car. Underutilize it as you see fit.

Don't you need extended studs to run a 5mm spacer safely? Or is that just if you're tracking the car

 

Not only will it look fuggly, it's not safe.

 

The car has staggered tire sizes for performance and handling -- not ricer stanced cosmetic reasons. The car understeers with the 215mm front tires and that will be acerbated with wider tires. Yeah, you can tune some of this out of the suspension. Do you know how?
