Default 245/40/18

i just got my new rims and tires. I mistakenly ordered 245/40/18 instead of 245/35/18. can I use the ones I have now?? or will I have problems with 40 profile?? I also have Tein-S on the car right now and planning to get coilovers. Is changing them with 35 profile a MUST???
The problem is that I ordered them online and paying shipping back and forth will cost a lot. Do you think a tire place can help me out if I give them my brand new tires plus some cash for the same tire with lower profile??
What should I do??

BTW the if I get the 245/35/18, then I can't get the same brand as the fronts because they don't make them. Would it be a problem to have different brands in front and rear??

Front: 18x7.5 +42 with 225/40/18
Rear: 18x8.5 +50 with 245/40/18

My question is if I need 245/35/18 for the rear because that is what everybody has. Or can I use my 245/40??

The answer to your question is YES you can run the 40 series aspect ratio in the rear. I would recommend that you do that before switching to another tire brand and having two different tread patterns.

The 40 vs. 35 series in the rear will make your cars handling slightly different at it's limits but less different then having miss matched brands.

I recommend you drive off the 40 series and after about 15-20k miles switch to 35 series as recommended on the plus size chart which would put you at 255/35/18 rears.

When these rears wear out, you can get a different brand tire, but be sure it is similar to the front. The overall performance will probably be better than your current setup.

The real answer is yes you can run them but the speedometer, odometer, gear ration and anti lock brake will all be off. I would not recommend it myself. They are just about 1" taller than the OE tires.
