Default 245 tire on 7" wheel?

Will a 245 tire fit on a 7" wide wheel? I'm sure I can get a 235 on there no prob, but would a 245 be too wide? I'm just worried if the bead will seat well enough...not too concerned with the way it looks (bulgy), just don't want it to come off the wheel. Thanks.

I don't want to commit to my answer, but I'm 99% certain it will not fit properly.

I would say yes. Even a 245/45R16 requires a 16X7.5 wheel.

Thanks guys. So, a 235 would work tho correct? I could've sworn I've seen 235's run on 16x7 before. Thanks.

To answer this question accurately we really need to know the exact size of the tire. The profile of the tire plays a part in this as well. A 245 with a larger profile will work on a narrower wheel. As an example , a 245 / 40 / 17 really wants a 8- 9.5 " wheel where a 245 / 45 / 17 wants a 7.5 - 9" wheel. There is also some variance from tire to tire. Some tires are molded wider etc.

It sounds like 245 is out.
What profile would be needed to fit a 235 tire on a 16x7 wheel?
Thanks.

It is also dependent on the type of tire you use. I have seven and a half inch wheels, and I can run 245/40/17 in the P Zero Pirelli but I can run 235/40/17 in the Bridgestone Potenza S03's. The contact patch is about the same.
