Default 255s All around

Hey guys I'm running 17x9 +45 w/ 255/40/17 all around. I rolled the front and rear fenders, removed fender liner up front, and relocated rear bumper tab. My camber specs are -1.05 F and -2.4 R ... I'm waiting on my camber kit to come in so I can adjust the rear.

Upon driving today, I noticed a very thin light line along the sidewall of the tire. It's almost as if the tires are constantly rubbing, but I don't see how that's possible. I only hear rubbing on hard bumps, but not often. It's rubbing for sure, just don't know where.

Question: Will I have to raise my car to clear? Or will I have to dial in more negative camber? I really like the stance of the front, -1.05 degree looks good. I hate the sunken in/ excessive neg camber look.

front or rear tire? and what tire since they're all different widths?

if front tire, you need more front cammber at a minimum. I run 2.2 in the front and 2.7 in the rear. Caster will affect rubbing in the front as well.

I'm also not very low.

Should have went with a 245 and made it stretch just a tiny bit. 255 is a little big for a 9 inch. (I know, it's what I'm running. I'm ready to go back to 245.) If you are low then you should be able to go well into the -3.0 degrees of camber in the rear with factory adjustment.

yea, you def need more camber up front.

I am running 255/40/17 on a 17x8.5 wheel and I have over -2.0 camber up front with no rubbing.

With the 45mm offset and the 9" wide wheel I can see them rubbing. My guess would be the negative camber is going to be needed.

Using bridgestone potenza re11 on all fours. Strangely enough, I was directing this topic towards my rear more then my front. The lines are more apparent in the rear then front, I also saw a bit of silverstone paint on the rear sidewall.

Doesn't rub on full lock, that's for sure.

I guess I will take it back to my friend to check it out. Just wanted to know what you 255s on 9" guys were running.

I'm -1.2 rear camber but I actually wanted them to wear well. My car is 3/4 inch drop and gives about a finger gap on the rear fenders. Mine are rolled and tab has been moved. No issues. So I guess the question is how low are you?

Importkid that sounds like the ideal camber I want in the rear.

Here's a quick pic I snapped of

FRONT

REAR

As you can see I have about almost a two finger gap in rear.

This is 225 front with 255 rear. I could be lower in the front but I'm on springs and not coil overs. Front camber is -0.5 rear camber is -1.2. The wheels are 17x8 +44 and 17x9 +47. Had to use the SPC camber kit to achieve the correct camber. It works well. I rocked one for two years but one stripped out. The best bet is to set it and leave it. For some reason SPC made the bolt standard for Japanese cars and I don't think I had them tight enough and just eventually messed the threads up. Hopefully this helps you out.
