Default Air pressure and alignment

I noticed in a post in this forum that someone recommends that tire pressure should be up to spec prior to wheel alignment. I just picked up my car from San Francisco Honda after they did an alignment and before leaving the dealership, I checked tire pressures. They were anywhere from 28.5 to 31. I pointed this out to the service manager, who told me this could not possibly make any difference, as the car is off the ground when alignment is done. I drove off, but keep wondering: should I go back to have them re-check it one more time with correct pressures?

Alignments are performed with the suspension fully loaded.

In my experience, 2 or 3 psi makes very little difference, especially for street driving.
