I took my '01 S2K in for her 15,000 check and the dealer (who has always been pretty straight with me in the past) said that they recommend a 4 wheel alignment at 15k. I don't remember seeing this mentioned in this site. Wouldn't be a bad idea, but they want $100 to do it. Is this a scam or what?

Not a scam and not a terribly bad price either... I would recommend you figure out what specs you want for the alignment before you get it done and make sure they are willing to adjust to your requirements.

Nothing's wrong with it, it's a matter of personal taste -- making the car handle like you want, coupled with tire wear rates.
Plus, after 15,000 miles, it's quite likely that your alignment has drifted out of spec.

A lot of people have reported that they come from the factory with a poor alignment.

On the other hand, my car seems to handle really well: predictable, some understeer, great at the track. I'm afraid to let anyone touch it...
