Default Another "Wheel fitting" thread

Hello s2ki fellas,

I'm having a few questions before I decide to bring my car to the shop to get everything installed.

I just bought a set of vsxx form a member on this forum and should be getting it by this monday
I also just ordered a set of eibach pro-kit since I only drive the s2000 on the streets, not planning on tracking or anything and only looking for an inch drop all around

Here are the questions:

1) The vsxx's are 17 x 8/9 (+35 offset) and come with 205 front/225 rear. Will this look weird on 1" drop since the tires are pretty stretched ?
2) I know my fenders are going to have to be rolled and also relocate tabs. Anyone knows how much will this normally run for ?
3) What should my camber specs be that I won't have any rubbing issues?

Appreciate your helps,

Ryan

Those tire sizes will look horrible

If it was me, I would run 225/45 front and 255/40 rear. They will have equal sidewall heights front/rear so it will look great. Also, the 225 will fit on an 8" wheel nearly exactly the same as a 255 on a 9"wheel

I am pretty sure you'll need a roll and slight pull in the front and rear which isn't a huge deal, plus a good amount of camber...maybe ~3.0. Not sure where you are located, but in SoCal there is a good fender roller that will do it for around $100. I believe ~$100-200 is the going rate for the fender work.

Thanks for your reply. Looks like I will have to sell those tires and get a proper sizes for them. I will get quotes from the shops around my area tomorrow. I'm also doing spring install so hopefully I get the package deal.

If I can help with the tires let me know. I am pretty sure our prices will be better than a local tire store. If you are worried about clearance the 215/45R17 and 245/40R17 will give you the most clearance.

After doing some research on the boards. I've decided to go with hankook v12s 215/45/17 and 255/40/17 for street use and I've read good thing about hankooks being pretty quiet.

Anyone knows how my cambers are going to be ? I'm trying to keep it at 0 toe because I don't want to camber wear my tires. Appreciate the helps guys

I still suggest a 225 in the front

It sounds like you might have camber/toe mixed up...you are going to NEED a decent amount of camber to fit the 9" +35 w/255. You can choose to run 0 toe also. I don't know how that will feel. Maybe someone else can elaborate on that. Most people run a bit of toe in the rear and 0 in front.

I just want to have some clearance in the front, that's why I'm going with 215. Basically I just want the most clearance as possible in the front. I also read that I don't really need camber kit since 17 x 8/9 +35 is not that aggressive, I can just run stock camber. Imhope my reading is right since I work 12 hours a day and the only time I do my reading is late at night before I go to bed hahah

hey rayan.
my camber was set at 1.8 up front and 3.3 in the rear to fit the 205/225. now remember I am a lot lower than you will be so those camber spec should accommodate your new wider tires.

you wont need aftermarket camber kit but it really depends on the drop. (the lower you go the more you can get out of the stock camber bolt)
