Default Anyone tried TireMinder??

Has anyone tried the "TireMinder" tire valve cover that has a built-in pressure guage?

TireMinder

Any thoughts on it?

I'll bet you use the dip-stick as well, but I'll also bet that you take notice when the idiot light lights!

You are correct ... however if the oil pressure idiot light comes on it's too late to save the engine - at least that's whats been reported in the Under the Hood forum. I don't intend to find out .

The Tire Minder looks good in concept, but I have two concerns:
1) I wonder how accurate they are.
2) In order to show pressure loss, they would somehow have to defeat the seal in the valve core. That means that the Tire Minder becomes the primary seal between correct pressure and a flat tire .

It's an interesting concept, but not something I'll try.

That was my primary concern as well.

It's surprising to me that on this forum that nobody has tried it (or at least admitted to trying it!)
