Default Anyone use Kumho ECSTA SPT?

Anyone use the Kumho ECSTA SPT?

Tread patter looks pretty cool. I'm running S-03's all the way around right now. They came with the CE28's, and I actually don't like them that much. I don't feel sure-footed during hard cornering and they're use to spin during launch.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh I forgot to mention...these are daily driven tires. Probably won't see any autx-x or track days. And I do live in the northwest and we're going to get some rainy weather soon...so wet traction is a must.

i've driven a 300zx w/ have Kumho Ecstas a few times. A good friend of mine whos car i frequently drive has them on his car, 18x10.5 in the back. They are definatly a good buy. I was pleased with the grip, ride quality, and noise. So far it seems like they are holding up pretty well, the car is def. driven aggresivly and it isn't too hard to break traction, but they are very solid and give you the feeling of a stong grip in turns. Wet traction is alright, a bit better then most i would say, dry traction is impressive. They are at only about 2~3k miles, and they are looking good, and should go plenty more miles. I know he's thinking about getting Fuzion ZRi's, they are pretty cheap, and supposedly pretty nice, you might want to look into those as well.

SO3 > Kumho Ecsta SPT and 712's.
SO3 = Kumho Ecsta MX

For your type of driving and in the rain, SPT probably a good tire plus it's a lot cheaper than SO3's. You might want to check out Falken Ziex as well for decent all season tires.

I've heard from several sources that the MX's are horrible tires.

I am running the Kumho Ecsta MX's. I don't like them at all, they ride like crap and are very bad in the rain. They have a very hard sidewall, I cant speak for the SPT's, they look a little more street friendly . I am getting a set of the new Falkens to replace my MX's.

for your type of driving and since you're in the northwest, spt will probably a safe bet. i never said mx's were great in the rain. if you really want good wet weather traction and comfort, try the falken ziex m+s tires http://www.discounttirezone.com/index.asp?...ATS&Category=90
