Default ap1 tires

i got a set of ap1 rims for $100 and was planning on using them as my temporary rims til i can afford to get better rims but i cant decided on the tire size. my ap2 isn't lowered and i was thinking 225-50-16 front and 245-50-16 rear. will this be okay or is there a better setup.

The factory sizes would be the best in the 16". If I can help with the tires let me know.

factory ap1 size is used only if you purchase the oem s02. if you are using a different brand tires the correct tire size to use is 245-45-16 for the rear. Front are fine with 205-55-16. I believe there is a sticky about correct tire sizes for ap1.

Stickie was well-intended, but imo tremendously overstated the importance of "tread width", and is now counterproductive (to the extent that it should be deleted/removed), so please ignore. For one thing, 245/45-16s don't really handle that much differently from 225/50-16s, particularly on the street. For another, there are next to no 245/45-16 street tires available, and if you insist on that size you are guaranteed to NOT have anything like the best tires for your usage.

Yea the only tires available in the 245-45-16 size are inferior to the top tires by more than enough that they will handle worse.

Wha? I don't see anything in this thread that suggests that...
