You are in for a surprise. The rears won't fit on the front without some mashining.

the center bore will have to be enlarged to fit rears on the front

I think you're also in for a dangerous oversteer proclivity if you get rid of the stagger. My car finally feels closer to "right" with 215's on the front and 255's on the rear. I can still rotate the rear but it doesn't want to come say hello every time i blink in a corner. I think you're asking for trouble if you run big rubber up front.

You will lose 100hp with AP2 wheels.

Im running 225 up front and 255 in the rear on ap2v1's and it feels great daily driving as well as spirited driving.

Go poke around in the racing forum and you'll see that this setup (255/255) has been used by the top street category driver (949racing) in this year's S2k Challenge, with great success. There are many other factors and variables (alignment, FSB, springs, etc.) that can be tuned in order to change the handling characteristics. Just my 2 cents.
I would have to agree, seems all the best time attack s2000's in japan (amuse,J's) are running the 255/255 setup as well.
