Default AP2 Tires

It is time to replace the tires on my 2004. Right now I'm running the original RE050 Bridgestones. I've been pretty happy with them, and wouldn't want anything that performed less than the stock tires.

I do an occasional track day, not enough to get track tires..yet.

So, I'm looking for the best dry pavement performance street tire that will fit on the stock rims, treadlife isn't really that important. I'm going to replace all 4 tires.

I was leaning towards the S03-Pole Position since they have the AA traction rating. Are they worth the extra $$ over the RE050? Or should I go with the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 or something else.

Reccomendations?

Also, Jim if I click through the advertisment at the top of this page, do you get credit for the sale, or should I call you directly.

Thanks!

John

Jim,

Thanks for the quick reply!

As long as they fit on the stock rims, I'm open to wider.

Thanks!

John

If you are willing to go wider the best options would be RE050A Pole Position, Michelin PS2, Yokohamama Advan Neova and the Kumho Mx.
The RE050A Pole Position would be a better all around performance tire while the Advan would be my number one choice in the dry.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you,

I am looking to upgrade dry performance and road manners with the STOCK tire sizes. What's your thought with the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx? I heard that Bridgestone might bring out a 215/45/17 RE-01R. Any comment on these tires as well?

Thank you,
The Neova you have the rear (245/40/17) you don't have the front (215/45/17)
