Default AP2V1 Vs AP1 Wheels

Hey guys so I've been searching, but as you all know the search feature on this site is pretty lame. I'm trying to find a answer to my question about wheels. If I buy Ap2V1 wheels will I notice a difference in handleing. Weight isn't really much different so It probably wouldn't be noticeably slower, but will the handleing be noticeably better. I know it will be but if its not going to be noticeable then I might as well just put some really good rubber on my AP1's. Input is appreciated.

I'd get the AP2 wheels. They look better and will improve the handling. Also, you have more options on high performance tires.

They will also be heavier. Maybe it was in my head, but I noticed it was heavier and pick up was slower. But that was a few years ago and now I'm used to it. That and the cost of tires is more are the cons. Rest are pros.

I switched from ap1's to ap2v1's. I didn't really notice much of a difference honestly, but they look 10x better. Also I agree with wineboy, there is a much wider selection of nice tires to choose from in good sizes. You should do it.

It's not going to noticeably improve handling.

And there is still a decent selection of great tire options in AP1 sizes.

The popularity of 17" (or even bigger) wheels is mostly about looks. On the street AP1 wheels perform fine and more than one owner has felt a loss of pep when moving to bigger wheels. Lots of week end racers still run 15" wheels, of course with high performance rubber.

They may not be noticeable depending on the tire you choose. If you go with a tire like a Dunlop Star spec in the 17" it should be noticeable. I can tell you if you were doing an auto cross they would be faster.
If I can help let me know.

Thanks guys, ya after reading I made up my mind not to buy a set of ap2v2's i saw on craigslist, but had already arranged to look at them. Brand new were only on the car for like 2k miles. She was asking 500, and i offered 400. She said yes and then when i was a little hesitant she said 300 so I'm picking them up friday. You can't beat basically brand new AP2V2's for 300.

Jim I might be ordering tires soon, you hook me up with a good deal?
