Default Availability of S-02's

Jim,
I heard from another S2K owner that S-02's were going to be discontinued by
Bridgestone. Is this true or just a rumor? If it is true, how long will the current supply be available? Hope it's not true.

Thanks,
A Loyal Tire Rack Customer

Just a rumor. The tires are still current and I have them in stock. If I can help let me know.

You're thinking of S03s which are defunct.

No, she is thinking S02s. These are orphan tires, with no other OEM fitment in this size. They will cease to exist at some point, even if it's another 5 years.

Jim - are there RE050s in this physical size? I say "physical" since of course the S02s are larger than their designation suggests.

When I was still in the tire biz, the availability of S-02s was horrible. Could never find them anywhere. If you found them, they were the Z rated S-02s and not the W rated ones that AP1s are really supposed to have. Good luck... you might consider upgrading to AP2 OEM wheels, or aftermarket wheels.

The S02 original equipment is still available and in stock. The RE050 is a narrower tire and would not have all of the handling of the S02.
If I can help just give me a call.
