Default BBS STI Rims on the s2000

Hey guys!!

I just have a quick question. I might buy a set of 2005 BBS Subaru STI rims for my s2000 and I will like to know if they fit without no problems or modification at all. My car is totally STOCK.

The specs are;

Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3
Rim Width: 8
Rim Diameter: 17
Offset: 53
Weight: 16.5 Lbs

Tires;

225/45/17
Potenza RE070

(Tires will need to be replace soon)

If you have any s2000 pictures with this rims will be a great help for me to have a better idea.

I will appreciate any help or comments!!!

If '05 is the same as 2012, hub bore is smaller on the BBS. S2000 wheels will fit STI, though, but with a bit taller tires.

Bore out the hubs and it would work, but why? It's less tire. Even if you have an AP1 I think the better upgrade is AP2 stockers

I'm just having a really good deal on the rims. I seen those pictures before but they don't talk about fitment nor if they did something extra in addition to do it. I'm guessing they will fit but I will need wider tires on the back. I did my homework by looking everywhere I can for more information but no luck yet.

You should be aware that the centre bores on the front and rear wheels are different (so that you can't install the rear wheels on the front in stock form) and may require a ring to accommodate the wheels you are looking at. Fronts are 70mm and the rears are 64mm I believe.

I've bored out a set of these for a 2008Civic Si to fit 64.1mm hbore. I don't recommend boring them out to 70mm to fit the front. Not enough material there in my opinion for Race track/race tire forces but maybe okay for DD. I'd question the integrity of the center of the rim with all that material missing. Under extreme heat they'd be more acceptable to deforming. Not much material there to absorb/dissipate heat. As an Engineer, without knowing the true strain gage testing results, I wouldn't trust them with that much material missing.

this picture shows bored out to 64.1mm on the money. I think I had the machine shop bore the hole 6mm deep b/c the hubs on my civic were 5mm tall.

on my civic si with 25mm hubcentric bolt on spacers front. 3mm universal spacer rear just for a bit more flush look. AutoX tested to work fine as well as Daily driven on for about 2 years.
