Default Best Tire Replacement for S-02's?

Anyone have a list of the "next best" Tire compared with S-02's? I'm sure I'm in the same boat with alot of people here that beleive S-02's are pretty expensive to replace.

Thanks,

Impossible to answer. That is totally dependant on you "needs".

This is a stretch because they won't last as long and are quite expensive... but I'm going to get a set of 225 front and 245 rear Yokohama A032R. They should be alot of fun from what I have heard. And I'm not saving for a supercharger or billion dollar JDM bodykit so I don't mind spending money on sticky tires all the time.

I am waiting for the rain to taper off a buit more and then will be doing this. I have crappy all season tires on right now that I can throw back on when the Yok's are toast.

Everyone says the Kumhos are good but I can't find proper sizes anywhere for the stock wheels.

I quoted this from another thread. "Another option that very few people bring up is Yokohama A032's. I tried a set recently and they have great dry grip, stiff sidewalls, pretty good wet grip, and you can get great sizes for stock wheels 205/245 to maintain the original balance without requiring a bigger front bar. The only downside I could find is that they are very loud - they sound like a 4x4 with mud tires."

If you're looking for a streetable "race" tire try some unshaved Toyo Proxes RA1. I heard, but haven't confirmed that Toyo recently raised the tread wear rating on RA1's from 40 to 100. Should be good for 5,000 to 10,000 miles. And in the dry the more the RA's wear the better the grip. Just be very careful in the rain. Unmounted RA1's should be in the $600 to $700 range for an appropriately sized set for an S2000.
