Yokohama ADVAN AD08 seem like nice performance tires.

There are no "best" tires. There is only a given tire for a given usage and a given budget. Without more information, we cannot answer your question.

Check out the reviews on TireRack.com. According to their surveys, Michelin PSS is currently the king of performance tires.

Pete, see this post in the UK Section for the current favourites. It also contains a link to our Tyre thread which has lots of information.

This. Also, chances are someone with your needs/uses has already posted here - so old threads are a good place to start.

Which specific tires? "Bridgestone" and "Continental Contact" could be any of a number of differing tires.

You need to define exactly what you mean by "best". What are you looking for from the new tires? What are your priorities? What did you like about your previous tires? What did you dislike about them? Don't ust assume that your notion of "best" is universal no matter what the topic. What's your budget?

Best in handling or gripping?

Best tread wear?

Best noise level?
Best ride comfort?

Best looking?

What does best mean to you?
