If I buy my own tires online how much will it cost to get them on the wheels and ready to put on my car? I'm running stock ap1 wheels with just about 1-1.5 inch drop from stock height and when looking for tires online should i type in for rears 245/45/16 and front 205/55/16 i think i saw that around here but tirerack.com says different for the rear like 225/55/16/ or just do the default for the 01 s2000? Also I could just go to a firestone or tire kingdom type of place to get the tires on the wheels right? I live in florida so obviously is does not get that cold here so should i look for summer or all-season tires? Thanks for the info guys!

 

1. Usually ~$20 per tire to mount/balance
2. 205/55 front, 225/50 rear
3. I'd get summer tires.

FYI, 245/45/16 rear is fine (but not necessary) if you can find a tire you like in that size. None of the ultra or max performance summer tires are available in that size but some of the all-season's might be if you choose to go that direction.

 

You can find a lot better tires these days in the factory sizes. We do have a list of installers listed on our web site. If I can help with anything let me know.

 

I honestly just have no idea what any of those numbers mean except i guess the last one is the size of the wheel. I'm just trying to save some money buying online rather that at a local shop. I'm just looking for the best performance tires i can get without breaking the bank.
