Default Can't make a decision on wheels?

For those of you are looking into purchasing some wheels for your car, I know it can be a tough decision. I went with the Work Meister S2R wheels in the 18" persuasion. I just have to say, it's like looking at my car...each time I look at them, I like it better. They look real clean. The polished lip of the wheels just says classy in my opinion. The wider width makes the handling feel so much better. The wheel style is appreciated by young and old alike. I haven't even dropped the car, and it still looks nice. You can find pics of it in this forum. I will try to post some of my own when I get a chance to take some good pics...weather sucks here right now.

I wrapped the rims in Yokohama ES100's. Very nice, affordable tires. The stock setup is nice, no doubt, but going to at least an 18" rim and lower profile tire just looks soooo nice. Anyways, hope this helps some of you guys and gals out if you are torn between rim choices. Happy hunting...

MorpheusTD,

Great! I like the ES100's...I'm a couple of months away from replacing my rear 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 T1-S with the ES100's.

Any pictures bud?

Car looks slick bud...I like those wheels alot also.

You done good man. You picked some wheels with good offsets.
Good tire sizes also (225/40/18 and 255/35/18). Those tires should last a while, they have wide tread widths and they are alot better for wet weather driving than the S02's. Did I mention that the tires are cost effective and look sharp? Heh heh.

Do the ES100 stick well in dry vs. SO-3's or TS-1's?
I know there was a write up about this tire, but I don't recall anyone mentioning dry performance vs SO-3's or TS-1's.
Oh, I believe Unicorn mentioned in other threads that the ES100 is light as well.
Thanks!

Looks nice! Personally I'm a fan of the SSR GT1/3 and the BBS LM's (little pricey tho).

Where'd you pick them up and how much?

well, i thought that the es100's felt more sticky, but then I think it's b/c the tires are wider.

Yeah, I made sure that I got correct wheels and tires for the car. I wanted to make sure I did things right. Hell drop close to 40G on a car, don't cut corners you know?

I got the wheels from Science of Speed for around you know what I can't remember exact pricing, but I believe it was around 2100 or 2200 for the set of 4 at 18".

Thanks for the props guys...

The es100 and the T1-S have the same wear rating of 280. If the compound of the T1-S is a bit stickier...I bet the ES100's make up for it in the department of having wider tread.

The S03's have a wear rating of 220...because the tread wears faster...sometimes you can assume it might be a stickier tire. But, the S03's are heaviest of the 3 tires.

255/35/18's

T1-S
280 tread wear - UTG
23 lb.
8.5 inch tread width (my assumption)
$215

S03
220 tread wear
9.4 inch tread width
27 lb. (if I remember correctly)
$205

ES100
280 tread wear
9.8 inch tread width
25 lb. (if I remember correctly)
$166

wow good breakdown there Unicron...I would think that price alone would sway people (like myself) into the ES100's, and like I said, I'm completely satisfied with them. Not to mention, by the looks of it, they would last longer. Therefore, saving just slightly more money on how often you would replace your tires...not TOO much of a savings there I would think.
