Default Center Bore Question ?

I finally got to strap my wheels on the car and they look great...while I was at the shop the installer mentioned to me that the wheel doesn't sit 100% flush on the hub..have any of you guys experienced problems with this ? What is the solution to this problem ? The wheels have a tiny "wave" like motion when rolling ? Thanks for the help

Hubcentric rings. Outside diameter will be that of the wheel center bore (73mm is most common), inside diameter will be 70.1mm front and 64.1mm rear.

I did hear someone else tell me about the rings...so your saying a hubcentric ring should clean my problem right up ?

It should, provided your wheel bore is oversized and not undersized which would prevent the wheel from mounting correctly. I am going to assume they would not mount a wheel with a center bore smaller than the hub. The ring centers the wheel on the hub while you torque the lug nuts, should eliminate any "wave" like rotation.

hmmm i'm thinking it's undersized and doesn't properly sit over the hub..I will be talking to a wheel shop Tuesday morning to see what they think about it..granted it's not too bad as I've been driving pretty much all day fine..but it's an issue that needs to be addressed rather soon

If it is undersized I would try and avoid driving on it.

If the hub bore is undersized it is dangerous to drive on.

You could probably find someone that would bore it out...

Machine shop can usually do that. However if a shop sold you wheels with too small a bore size I think you should return them.
