Default Changing to 19's - Help please !

Hi all,

This is my first post so be gentle

Im fairly knowledgeable with cars but these S2K's are a pain on the wheel side of things !

Basically im running the standard 16's with standard tyres (notice the 'y', u can tell im a Brit ) but looking to change ASAP to something bigger and nicer.

Ive been speaking to a company called 'Import Adrenaline' who can supply and ship to me a set of Axis Hagens in 19x8, with 215/35/19 front and 225/35/19 rear which works out to be close to the origianal rolling diameter according to this site - http://www.sdspeedo.com/ , but the offsets arent the standard 45 and 55, instead they are around +47 to +50 for both front and rear. Price inc shipping to UK is quoted at $2770

Now all I need to know is if this will fit and run OK, or if anyone knows a better wheel to go for and if anywhere can do me a better deal.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Regards,

Dan.

I did allot of research before buying my wheels and tires but I found this website and theres a
guy that works at this place that can probably help you out. He's tried several different sizes
on his "S" and can tell what will and what won't fit or rub.
http://www.modacar.com/products/Honda/S2000/MODARAS/
call the 800 number and ask for the guy that owns the s2k.
I put Racinghart C-4 18x7.5 (225/40/18) front and C-4 18x8.5 (2245/40/18) rear
with 51mm offset. They fit just the way I wanted them to and I lowered it one inch.
You can also check with comptech.com and call and talk to one of their people.
Hope it helps you out.

I was tooling around on this site today and noticed they had quite a few 19 inchers. Here's the Axis NEO

19's?
Good for show... or go?
Isn't that like a rubber-band around the wheel?
Damn! In Arizona, I'd be afraid to leave my driveway!
Am I stupid?
Don't answer that...

All,
I'm looking for the best performing tires for my stock MY04. (17's). I'm impressed with the delivered rubber, but they get soft after a few spins around the track.
Got any suggestions?

Thanks,
CB

If you think that you'll go to the track more than a few times, invest in a set of dedicated track wheels. That way you can use your nice, sticky track rubber on the track and not beat up on your street rubber. For the track novice, I recommend Toyo RA-1 tires. They give good feedback, last longer than most race rubber, and are very tolerant to overheating.

If you want to upgrade your street wheel, just use the OEM rims for the track tires. Despite what many people think, grip is more about the tire than it is about the size of the rim.
