Default check engine light

hey check this out. i just got my car like about 2 months ago, got about 5,000 miles on it. just yesturday while i was driving my check engine light came on and its not goin away. i have a 2002 s2000, does anyone else have this particular problems. man shits sucks, when you least expect coming from a honda.

might want to post this or request that it be moved to something like S2000 talk or under the hood forum. not sure if you will get appropriate responses being in the wheel and tire forum.

in regards to the check engine light (CEL), are you sure its not the Maintenance Indicator Light (MIL)? if its the check engine light, something done recently? An intake? Gas cap not on tight enough? Any studdering or performance losses? It could be a fluke, but you can always check with the dealership and have the shop check it out to make sure.

Or else, if you think its a fluke, reset it (instructions in the library under troubleshooting) and if it comes back take it to the dealer immediately.

A bunch of us are having trouble with gas caps coming loose,but Schatten's right take this topic to another forum and you'll get better info.
