I am dealing with the same thing on a 17x9+42 with a 255/40 Dunlop.

BBS and I need longer studs as I can only get them to thread about 2-3 rotations.

What a PITA!

Can you tell everyone what suspension your are on? They will need to know...

You will likely have to run negative camber and roll your fenders (relocate the bumper tab).

Half inch to an inch that's a lot. It shouldn't be that much. Did you make sure that the wheel is seated properly against the hub? Is your car lowered? Are the wheel specs correct?

ok well maybe i exaturated a bit to much hahaha... after looking at it today, it sticks out maybe 1/4 inch to half an inch... it was getting dark last nite, and i guess i didnt see that well... rear size is 17x9 +48 255/40 tire... stock suspension.. i got maybe 2 inch gap between the quarter panel and the tire... i know what i will most likely have to do to fit them on properly so i dont damage anything... just want some advice from some of you that already went thru this before... that way i could maybe avoid some mistakes along the process.

looks like we got the same problems going on lol. hopefully it wont be a problem for you to find longer studs... yesterday ive spent half my day going from one shop to another trying to find metal or aluminum valve stems for the work ewing wheels... no one has them...so i finally went to a truck stop, they had both but the mechanic said those would not fit the wheels correctly and they would leak air... i ran out of options and finally decided to mount the tires with the valve stems that came with the wheels, i hoped they would not leak anywhere... and thank god they dont..so as of rite now everything is holding up well. btw wheels are work ewing wheels... so hopefully u wont have to spend ur day running around town trying to find longer studs like i did with the valve stems lol...

oh ok. I had 18x9 +48 255/35 in the rear and also rubbed on dips in the road on stock suspension. There's no other way around it unless you add negative camber, or roll your rear fenders, or possibly 245/40/17. When I was lowered I still rubbed from time to time on stock fenders.
