Default Concerned about rubbing... HELP

Hey all -

Need some advice...

... I have the chance to pick up a set of ssr comps for a great price. They are 17x8 (+48) and 17x9 (+55) with azenis 615's in a 225/275 configuration.

I really want the wheels, but we are working out a trade of my ap1's plus cash.

My concern is with terrible rubbing. I am lowered on skunk2 springs.

the current owner says that I can ride on them until I get new tires... he thinks they will only rub a little under really hard cornering or big dips. he says a 255 615 will not rub at all.

I can't afford to destroy tires or fenders.... so gimme some advice.

Thanks in advance.

damn....id be cautious with 255's on a skunk2 drop. I saw a car last weekend lowered on skunks and it was lower than most other springs ive seen. +55 might be alright for 255's....but id think 275 would be pushing it.

so... the 275's without rolled fenders would be out of the question even for a temporary fix?

275s will rub, hands down. You'll have to roll your fender and/or run some camber. 255s will be fine.

SHIT!! That was my concern. He needs my wheels as part of the trade/sale. So, I would be meeting with him and then installing the wheels with tires (275s) on my car to get it home. I don't want to chance destroying the tires and having an accident at highway speeds or just destroying my fenders.

Bolt 'em up and see how it goes. What's the worst that could happen?

if I hit a big dip in the highway on the way home, couldn't I cause some wonderful fender damage?

Who knows, drive carefully? If the price is right, go for it.

pm'd you the price... trying to see how much I would be out of pocket to get a new round o' rubber for the rear.

So, you think I should stick with the 225/255 stagger? 255/?? exactly?
