Cross-threaded lug/stem needs to be drilled out
I have a cross-threaded, non-standard lug nut on my S2K (I have SSR integral GT1 wheels) and no one can see to get it off. TiresPlus (on Piedmont in Atlanta) must have done it when I had new tires installed in the winter of 2009. Now, they are unable and unwilling to fix it -- and I have no way to prove they did it. Does anyone have suggestions on where I could take it around Atlanta? I am being told (by TiresPlus as well as my local Honda dealer) that it will need to be drilled out and a new stem put in.

When I had a (oem) lug nut stuck, I was able to get it off with some force and a giant breaker bar (the handle to my floor jack). Sheered the wheel stud in half. Big enough lever should be able to get anything off.
No big deal until you realize that to get a new wheel stud, you'll probably have to get a new wheel bearing installed ($300 - $500 or more if you go to Honda). Since then I'm always hand threading my lug nuts as much as I can before using the torque wrench. Most shops just use the impact wrench until it's severely overtightened.
