Default Cryo treated rotors

Jim,

Tell us about the Frozen Rotors. It is time to get rid of my ugly, rusty stock rotors. So, I am most interested to know if the unswept surfaces are treated to prevent rust or if the cryo process makes them more corrosion resistant?

Thanks

Jim I'm interested in the answer too. Some people say it works and others say it doesn't.

Cryo treating does nothing for rust. If you want to avoiud rust, get cryoed and plated rotors.

Mt point exactly. The info on the tirerack doesn't say anything about plating, powdercoating or otherwise. The pictures are not very telling either. Does anyone know if the unswept surfaces are coated in some way?

They are cadium coated to resist rusting. The Cryo treating makes the rotors last up to 3 times longer. They resist cracking and warping by cryognicallytreating the rotor to inhibit oxidationand increasingthermal fatigue resistance.
They also offer more predictable, consitent braking- even under extreme cicumstances.
If i can help let me know.

I did a lot of research when I bought replacement rotors. Check my thread here:
