Default did tirerack drop prices?

after my spill last week, ive been researching tire options. I was planning on stepping down from my z1's and going with a less aggressive tire especially for the approaching winter months. however, tire rack is showing That i can get z2's for less than 600$ which is cheaper than i remember my z1's being.. should I buy the z2's, or is there a new 'best' tire? why are the z2's so 'cheap?'

Once u add in tax and shipping and all those other crap fees that tierack adds, it won't be so cheap anymore.

The zII is cheaper because they are new. The z1 went through multiple price increases over the years, I see the same happening with the zII. Same is true for the re-11a, they are cheaper than the re-11.

Agree - its a lifecycle marketing that allows them to introduce their "new" extreme tires cheaper than their old ones--when really they just increased the price of their outgoing tire a few times.

255/40r17 Hankook RS3s were under $500 (maybe like 550 with tax) when they were first introduced - tire rack didn't have them: they were only available from discount tire. Now they're $700+ for a set when they're even in stock.

I think I also saw a coupon for 4 z2 tires recently
Hmm, how "aggressive" do you plan on driving on the street? Driving like it's a "get away" car?
