I just bought some V12's and they are pretty comfortable so far. I haven't been able to push the limits of grip yet because they need to be broken in, but so far so good.

I haven't used the Direzzas, but I am happy with my V12s.

When you say direzza, are you referring to the dz101 (because star specs are in a different league than the v12). I have heard mixed reviews on the dz101, but nothing but positive reviews about the v12. I would go with the v12.

V12's have been known to wear down fast and in very weird was sometimes. My wife had them on the G35 and they were a decent tire in terms of grip but they sure don't last very long. Especially being she never did any trackdays, or twisties on them.

Depends on which direzzas you are referring to, Direzza refers to dunlop's entire performance line. If you are referring to the direzza DZ101 (the V12's competitor) I have heard better things about the kook. If you are referring to the direzza z1 star spec, then the star spec is a whole performance class higher and should be compared to the Hankook RS3, in which case for predominantly street use, the Star spec is better due to better rain performance, better responsiveness and less need of heat to get good grip.

What are your priorities? Budget? Tire selection isn't a one-size-fits-all matter. That should be pretty apparent from browsing this subforum as everyone isn't using the same tires.

I've had my V12s for a while, and I' very, very happy with them; they are great in pretty much all conditions. Sure, they give up some dry grip, but they still have a very high level of dry grip, and the wet grip is outstanding.

With that being said, I've only tried the Star Specs, not the regular Direzzas.

Also consider the Continental ExtremeContact DW. They might be an extra $15 over the Hankooks, but you'll get similar dry performance, even better wet performance, and the ride quality is much better.

There were V12 on my old daily driver when I bought it. After I switched to the Continentals when the V12s wore out, I was surprised at how good they felt. The difference was apparent right away and lasted throughout their life. It was far more comfortable and quiet. Tread life was very good also.

Just my thoughts. But I think there's a good rebate for Hankooks right now. Sorry, like everyone else, I've never driven on Direzza other than Star Spec.

I've never had the V12s, but I do love my Star Specs. A LOT.
