Default Extended vs short lug nuts

What is the advantage of extended lug nuts over normal short ones?

Also, are there any brands of lug nuts that you would recommend AGAINST for any reason? I have heard that some of the cheaper aluminum ones are easy to strip.

Finally, how easily damaged are most after market lugs? Can I expect them to be all torn up in a year?

Thanks,
LG

well if your running extended lugs, them you are running extended studs. If your running extended studs, means your wheel is futher away from the hub, which means you are runnin BBK, or a widers offset rim, or spacer for wider stance.

Are you doing any of the above? I woudnt recoment spacers, just buy rims with wider stances of further offset. If you want it for the bling factor, then you can always do that. I am using the Rays extended lugs, with skunk 3'' studs due to BBK, so there is a reason for the longer lugs. these go straight through and allow the stud to travel the extent of the lug.

Good luck, correct torque is key

in regards to the brand, what i find funny is the spoon blue ones got wasted and is really soft allum. vs my rays one or buddy club ones which are the hollow type. Much better quality and bang for dollar if you change wheels or rubber as offten as i do.
