Default Extended wheel stud question

I just bought a set of ARP extended wheel studs and i found a topic on this forum saying that wheel bearings dont need to be replaced.

I brought it over to my mechanic to get them done, and he said i needed them. Since hes removing the hub, the bearing is going to separate into 2 pieces. If he installs it back as 2 different pieces, theres a chance the hub will fly off the car with the wheel.

Fill me in on this...please!

When you remove the hub to install the new studs, you will separate the bearing. This bearing was not meant to be separate. It is possible to reinstall it, but I personally would not.

I agree. Just got done doing the same thing for my track only S2000. I went ahead and replaced the bearings while I was there.

yes the bearings do come apart. you can put them back together or just replace them. depends what you feel comfortable doing. i have seen both ways done on local s2ks with no problems.
