Smile Fitment Issue Need Suggestions....

I finally got around to putting my T1R coilovers on and my Work XD9 wheels on, but the rear tires are not clearing the fender lip what so ever. My setup is below in case that helps you in coming up with a suggestion. The tire is sitting right on the inner rear fender lip, but I am very scared of rolling it, due to many people telling me since it is a seam weld it will definitely crack the paint and that is something I am trying to avoid.

Coilovers - T1R BMAX 52
Wheel (rear) - Work XD9 17x8.5 +42
Tire - 245/40/17

Lowered to top of the tire and the tire is sitting against the fender lip so I am not sure how much more it will go down. I was told with a euro spec alignment and this wheel I wouldn't have to roll my rear fenders and fitment would be no problem; apparently not!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mark

I would run more camber and/or roll the rear quarter panels. if you heat it up and take your time, you shouldn't crack the paint.

The car is really low, way more than 99% of all the members would like, and I will probably raise it up at some point (soon).

The camber in the rear looks over -2 by eye balling it. Do you think i should go even more?

my setup was more aggressive than yours.. im not really sure how low your car is, but I have rolled fenders, shaved inner fender lip on the rear bumper, relocated bumper tabs, along with lots of negative camber.

I am a bit lower than you, but not by much in the rear. on my 245/40/17 I am about in the middle of the tire, or a bit higher, so right about where you are.

How much camber do you suggest running? After lowering the car today, I have at least over -2 degrees.

Did you adjust the camber in the rear yourself or get it done professionaly?

professionally. I let them know what alignment specs I wanted and they were able to max out the camber. I was running about -3.5

I will go take a look tomorrow and see if I can snap some pics of what my fitment looks like. I would like to keep the tires I have and not go down to a 225 series.

Hey how did you do your bumper Bolt relocation for the bracket? I can't figure that out at all?

well, i pretty much just removed the bumper bolt, shaved the tab off, and then drilled a hole farther back and threaded a ziptie through it.
