Default Forgeline SP3

hey guys. i have been debating a number of options for my summer wheels. considered HRE C70, then BBS RG-R; just couldn't make up mind. the styling wasn't perfect enough for me.

then i stumbled on Forgeline SP3: loved it the first time i saw! simple spokes; yet, cool bling factor. just love the way it looks. i am considering silver center and polished outer. it's a stepped lip. just like shown in the picture.

here are the sizes:
17x7.5 +48
17x9 +55
i would be running RE-11: 215x45 and 245x40.

i have never considered Forgeline before. so, the questions are:
- what you guys think about SP3?
- how is the quality of Forgelines, relative to BBS or HRE?
- how durable are these, again, relative to BBS or HRE?

thanks a lot, guys.

henry.

Ive heard that they are pretty good wheels. I know a guy that uses them as autocross wheels and loves them. Cant go wrong w any of those choices though man. They should look good. I would do 18s though, I think 17s with a lip like that have too much sidewall then they are on the S2000. Good luck!

thanks, dude. i was just looking for some kind of validation that Forgeline is not a crappy choice!

i prefer 17" over 18" for a number of reasons, for S2K. i agree, the lip won't be much. but, that's not the priority! about an inch in the front; and, about two inches or so in the back. i can live with that!

cheers.

I'd put Forgeline in the same company as other premium brand wheels like HRE, iForged, CCW, 360Forged, etc., plus Forgeline supplies for race teams too, so they're not just about looks.

That's a great choice BTW!

You might consider upsizing your tire combo to a 225/255, especially with the width wheels you're considering.

I strongly reccomend CCW and non staggered set-up.

i looked at your wheels; nice! but, my tastes are very narrowly defined! :-)

thanks, DT. i talked to jim at Tire Rack. to avoid the chances of rubbing he recommended staying with the stock specs. i am thinking of upgrading to Wilwood brake kit when my pads/rotors need replacement. so, staying conservative on tire sizes might be good. besides, i am happy with the grip levels, for the street driving.

cheers.

actually, i prefer the staggered, stock setup. by going 7.5" and 9", i am still maintaining 1.5" difference between front and back.

i looked at CCW. i am sure they are great; just wasn't impressed. i have a very narrow band of preferences! i looked at a LOT of wheels before closing the deal on Forgeline SP3. i think i would be happy with these.

thanks.
