Default Front end alinement

Hi I am about to replace my OEM fromt tires at 30K miles. We noticed more ware on the inside of the tires and suskpect a missalignment. Or is this to lbe expected at 30K miles? the outside of the tires are about down to the minimum tread allowable. I can't think of many sugnifficent bumps to the front while parking but it could have happened .
TIA
Andy

Excess tire wear on the inside tread is normally a function of negative camber. It is not a problem unless it causes premature wear. You got 30k miles out of the OEM tires and have nothing to complain about I wouldn't worry about it, but it's never a bad idea to have your alignment checked once every year or two or more frequently if you autocross, track, etc.

I replaced mine at 9,000 miles (rears at 7K) and my alignment is fine. I doubt yours has any major issues.

I changed mine at 34K mi, and my car was lowered with no alignment the last 4 months of their lives. How long have you been lowered/aligned Andy?

Hi my car is still set up with the normal height caster and camber unless the last two have changed as a result of parking lot barrieres. I replaced the OEM rears at 20K. They were the 02s. I had 03s installed and they lasted 10k miles. Now I need to replace both front and rears. As I am now retired it is a bit of a strain.

Andy,

I don't suspect any alignment probles. Your tire life is perfectly normal for this car.

When you use ultra-high performance tires on this car, they will wear out quite quickly. The STOCK s2000 alignment settings are pretty aggressive compared to other cars. Its just the cost of ownership of this car.

Good luck

If the vehicle has the proper alignment angles, the tires will wear straight. My fronts had some cupping pretty bad on the inside (my S has 12K miles), put it on the rack at work....toed out like hell, camber was off, etc. Car has never been driven hard, beaten on, abused, etc. So for all you saying it's not an alignment issue...guess again. Have the alignment checked...most shops will put the heads on and check your angles for free.

There's nothing to say except you really have no idea what you are talking about.

Your cars' stock settings have negative camber on all four corners. Your tires will wear on the inside with a perfect stock alignment. This is how it should be. It makes your car handle better. With 31,000 miles on his stock rubber i wouldn't worry about it at all. I've never gotten anymore than about 10-12k out of S02 fronts. He surely can have it checked but to dial all the toe and camber out of the car so your tires to wear evenly is a mistake .
