Default Front Tire life span? Recommendations?

I am looking to get some new tires because this weekend I got a bubble on the side wall of my Generals (the fronts that came with the car from a HONDA dealer no less). The rears are fine but the fronts lasted me 8k which seems very low to me. The hope is that I can get a good set of tires that will last me a little more and still handle well enough for the occasional AuotX event. I am looking at a set of RE11s but I could by swayed. So my questions to me fellow s2kers is - what kind of mileage do you get out of a front set of tires before you feel like you need to replace them? Has anyone run through an entire tread on RE11s?

My S had the factory tires on it and they lasted til I hit about 40K. Those were the Dunlop Direzza DZ101's. That was on stock suspension though. I'm lowered on coilovers with a bumpsteer kit now. I bought a new set of the DZ101's for my 17x9 square setup. and I'm noticing some toe wear on the fronts at 7K on the new tires. I expect them to last about 15-20K.

With a matching set front tire life should always be double the rear. Go with the RE11's or the RE11A's.

tire life is very difficult to gauge. the life varies due to the type of driver and alignment. i was able to get about 30k on oem RE050's for the rear, the fronts were almost done, so i just swapped them out.

tire life is hugely depends on car's setup and your driving style.

for me rears always last more than fronts. but not much left on t rears so i replace them all at the same time.

if i get 10,000km out of the set i'm extremely happy.
usualy it's anywhere between 6000-8000km.
i replace tires when fronts' inside became slicks. sometimes they go to the cords.

Z1 lasted 10500.
AD08 lasted 7500.
R1R lasted 6000.

How harsh are you on your tires?

I plan on flipping my tires before the insides get too bad off. Could potentially double tire life that way depending on how much camber/toe wear you're getting.

I'm not really getting anything uneven. The outside of the fronts seems to wear a little more than the rest of the tire But I am not sure if that is due to toe being off or if it is just the way the car wears.
