Default front wheels destroyed

my father was recently in an accident in his S2000. driving along in the right lane, and an SUV in the lane next to him decided to turn into a driveway without noticing he was there. the door of the SUV hit the fender of the S2000, and pushed him into the curb. both front wheels were damaged, as well as the driver's side fender and headlight, and alignment is also pretty far off (doesn't steer straight). luckily both told insurance the same story, so everything is being paid for.

so, presuming the car isn't totaled (and I doubt it is) he is going to need to replace the front wheels.

how much do the OEM AP2 (2004) front wheels cost? is there anything else thats better that he should consider for the same price, but most likely for all 4 wheels?

You can find them lightly used in the For Sale forum for about 1000 for a set with tires. The last price I saw from a supplier was $409 each for OEM 2004-2005 wheels. There are some pretty good cast wheels around for that price but most of the better forged ones (Work, Volk, Prodrive) are a bit more. Check the 'Sponsor Group buys' forum for specifics.

go for aftermarket rims. Unless you are trying to hold onto evey bit of resale value. You can purchase a better product for what new OEM rims would cost.

i wonder if insurance will pay for a brand new set of OEM rims, those are pretty expensive, if they do, you could take that money, buy a set of used oem rims for way less and pocket the difference, or you could buy a new set of expensive aftermarket wheels
