Default Grip difference between 255/4017 & 265/35/18

Just curious if there's anyone who knows if there is any significant grip difference between 265/35/18 tyres and 255/40/17 assuming all else is equal?

Grip difference will be minimal. Grip per $$$ will be far inferior with the 265/35-18s.

There are a few good tires that come in 265/40-17. My RX-7 is on 255/40-17 front, 265/40-17 rear Dunlop StarSpecs.
