Default Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy some of the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's in 225/45/17 + 255/40/17 this week. I'm running AP2V1's + UK Alignment on a stock suspension AP1.

Here's my Q's:

1. My current tires are worn and have radial pull. They feel worse and worse as time goes on. Is this normal for them to make the ride quality really shitty and start tramlining more often once the tires start getting really worn down? The rears aren't to the wear bar yet.

2. Once I have the new tires installed and balanced, should I get an alignment? I got an alignment about a week and a half ago. Does the S2000 get thrown out of alignment easily? I DON'T want these tires to get uneven wear and ****ed up.

3. What PSI should I run these tires at? I usually do 36 in the front and 33 in the rear.

4. Can I flip the rears to extend the tire life?

5. I've read on some forums that the V12 Evo's run smaller than other tires with the same width; for example, the V12 Evo's in 255 width are more comparable to another tire that has a width of 245 width. If that's so, should I run 225/265 instead of 225/265?

Thanks.

I will go step by step on my answer.

1. The tires will be stiffer and noisier once they wear. They should not tramline more. That may be due to the alignment.
2. I would get an alignment to make sure everything is as it should be. Uneven wear is caused by an alignment issue.
3. You should run stock psi with the new tires. Maybe a couple psi more.
4. You can flip them but I would not recommend it. They are directional.
5. Just run the 255/40R17 in the rear and you would be fine.

There is a 50.00 mail in rebate on the four tires right now.
If I can help let me know.

These are excellent tires! I've got two sets. One on my TSX with Mugen GP wheels and another set on my Work XT7's currently on the S. Very grippy.

There is a 50.00 mail in rebate through 05/31. As long as the order is placed and the tires are in stock you will get the coupon for the rebate.
Just enter Jim as a previous contact and I will get them on the way.

The psi set up that you mentioned of 33 on the rear and 36 up front will lead to induce oversteer. A characteristic that is common on the S. If anything you may want to reduce oversteer by playing with the PSI and reverse the air pressure.
