Was it windy (as in blowing not curves)?

Tire shops don't always put the correct pressures into the tires
I checked them as soon as I got back from the shop. They had 34-35 in them. I reduced them to 32.5 - what I've always had. I check pressure weekly.

It wasn't the wind, this condition was the same throughout the entire weekend.

Is this behavior consistent with alignment one way or another?

Thanks for the

From this statement:
It did this equally, not favoring one side over the other. If I let go of the steering wheel, it would hold a straight course for a few moments then begin to slowly drift.
Not likely. If alignment made your car veer off, it would do it consistently in one direction. Like I said before, I think you new tires are simply tramlining more.

Wow, if that's the case its a bummer. Its very fatuging to drive any amount of time on the frwy because there's never more than 4-5 seconds and the steering has to be corrected. Its no fun on mtn roads either since it won't corner like before.

I bought this car new and have driven others, none has reacted like this.

Could there be ANYTHING else I should check?

If it is just new tires how long should I expect this to last? I put almost 1,000mi on them and its not getting any better.

Does everyone have this problem?

I did notice now that I'm thinking back that the inside of the fronts were worn more than the outside. Is this normal?

With this new information, it's probably a useful excercise to get an alignment done. It sounds like your car has either too much camber or too much toe. Your "wandering" condition may be aggravated by the new tires if the camber and toe are out. Have you had an alignment in the last year or two?

Could there be ANYTHING else I should check?
Can you be fairly sure that your tires have been balanced right? Any odd vibrations in the steering wheel?

Sorry, I should have thought about that sooner. No, I have never had the front or rear aligned. I only have 24,000 mi total.

Balance seems fine at all speeds. They used the machine that was recommended by Jim in this forum.

I'll take it in right away to my local Honda dealer. Do you recommend doing both front and rear?

Some owners have reported that alignment from the factory can be off. You did good in that you noticed the tire wear. This is how I determine if my alignment is OK. Those who track their cars can't wait this long and get an alignment done early so the car's handling is at its optimum.

I think for a car such as this, a 4 wheel alignment is very important as each wheel is referenced with all the other wheels.
