Default Help on Rim and Tire Size

Hi, I am getting a set of Volk GT-C s for my S2000

18x8 in Front
18x9 in Rear

Whats the proper offset for it and what tire size should i get?

Also, im planning to lower my car, about 1.5 inches. Will my tire rub if i lower that much?

Tire size rec. by the shop are

225/40/18 front
255/35/18 rear

does that look good to your guys?

Please respond, thanks

NRG,

For 18x8 and 18x9, I would try to get as close to stock offsets as possible.

Front: +55mm
Rear: +65mm

Last I knew, Volk GT series only come as high as +50 offset. And that's for 18x8 width only.
I was told that this is the only configuration for S2000, 18x7.5 +48 and 18x8 +50, in the Volk GT series.
Maybe Volk makes higher offsets for this series now?
Good luck!

For 18x9, I would go as close to +65mm offset as possible.

18x9 +50mm is no good. You will rub if your car is lowered...if your car isn't lowered...the wheels will stick out of the fender a bit.

I have 18X9 with +55 on 255/35/18 and i have some rubbing issues. Still trying to find a work around. If you search for "rubbing issues" you will find a good pic on whats rubbing. It not rubbing against the fender lining but rather where the rear bumper attaches. Someone mentioned a bolt that holds the bumper on rubs sometimes.

I just got the wheels on Thursday, got a alignment yesterday with -2.2 camber. I may go with -2.4 to see if that works better.

I'm thinking about switching over to 245/40/18, but I don't think that will fix the rubbing issue.

Any other ideas?
