Hubcentric Rings For Work Emotions?
Im just curious, i ordered my Work Emotion CR Kai's and im curious if i will need hubcentric rings or not? Im not sure what size the wheels center diameter is. Any info would be great.
Our OEM rims have different size center holes as the car has different sized hub centers. This is to reduce the risk of putting the spare onto the rear end of the car.
Most aftermarket rims will all have the same sized holes so they can fit different cars. They should include the rings that are in keeping with the specific car.
Whether or not you "need" them is another matter. I've used aftermarket rims before and left off the rings and had no problems. However, I should point out that those were my winter wheels with winter tires and I never drove the car in a spirited manner in the winter time.
You "should" have and use the rings, but if you don't, you "might" experience vibration when up to speed. This will be a sure sign that you should have put them on. On the other hand, if you put the lugnuts on in a star pattern and torque them in gradients, you may never experience any issues.

Alot of the local guys at the track don't use hubrings on their Volks. Just make sure you tighten in a star pattern order and use the correct type of lugnuts so they seat properly when you tighten them.
I purchased hubcentric rings for my Work Forged Emotion's from this place: http://www.prestigewheel.com/ The North American Distributor for Work wheels (AKH Trading) recommended them. The part numbers were HR73-7010 and HR73-6415. They indicate that the center hole size for my forged Emotions were 73mm and the rings reduce the opening size to 70.10 mm and 64.15 mm. However, you should probably call AKH trading to find out the center bore size of the Emotion CR Kai's as they may be different from the forged Emotions.
Oh, and the rings cost $30 total for all four.
